The Intelligence Operations Directorate (IOD) leverages the department’s tactical and strategic intelligence collection and analysis capabilities in furtherance of mitigating “all threats, all hazards”. The IOD, comprised of both professional staff and sworn personnel, leverages the Virginia Fusion Center function of the IOD wherein territorial, tribal, local, and state law enforcement, other public safety and homeland security-related information is received, assessed and analyzed, and disseminated to partner agencies in furtherance of detecting and mitigating threats.
