Division Six (6) headquarters and Area offices serve the Cities of Roanoke, Salem, the Town of Bedford, and surrounding counties of Alleghany, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Henry, Highland, Montgomery, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Roanoke, and Rockbridge. The Division contains the following: Area 38 Office, Area 39 Office, Area 40 Office, Area 41 Office, Area 42 Office, Area 43 Office, and Area 49 Office. Virginia State Police has 7 divisions and 48 area offices in the Commonwealth. Regional division headquarters help bring VSP services closer to those in need.
